Lake to Lake Trail

This is a gem that we only recently discovered. It’s surprising how remote some of it feels given its proximity to downtown Bellevue not to mention two major highways (I-90 and I-405). There’s even a section with old growth ceder trees.

We parked in the lot at the Bellevue Demonstration Garden near the intersection of SE 16th St. and 165th Ave. SE. We checked out the wonderful garden and then took the short path from the lot to the Lake to Lake trail and went north on the trail for 1/2 mile until we hit Lake Hills Blvd.

Key stats:

Distance: The Lake to Lake trail goes about 10 miles from Lake Washington to Lake Sammamish. We’ve only done the one section mentioned above

Wheelchair accessible parking? Yes

Wheelchair accessible bathrooms? Unknown

Trail condition? Hard-packed gravel, paved in parts where city sidewalks connect trails between parks.

Highlights? The aforementioned old-growth cedars; signs with interesting history of the area along the trail; and lots of birds. Grab some fruit at the fruit stand on your way out.
