Camp Brown (Middle Fork Snoqualmie River)

Camp Brown is a brand new ADA trail along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. You get there by taking exit 34 off I-90 and driving 11 miles towards the Middle Fork trailhead. The parking lot for Camp Brown is is about 1/2 mile before arriving at the main trailhead.

Lucas says: “This is one of the best trails we’ve ever done! It was really beautiful, mostly forest and but I was able to get down close and could hear the river. I also enjoyed lying down on one of the picnic tables for a rest.”

After our hike at Camp Brown we continued up the road to the Middle Fork trailhead where we walked across the huge extension bridge and did another short loop that goes north from the parking lot and gets you close to the river.

Key stats:

Distance: TheĀ  ADA loop trail is .45 miles long.

Wheelchair accessible parking? Yes, two spots at the front of the lot right near the bathrooms and trail head.

Wheelchair accessible bathrooms? Yes

Trail condition? Hard-packed gravel. The pine needles and small pine cones were building up when we were there which led to it being a little bumpier than it might otherwise have been. Also, the “sand bar” is actually a mix of big rocks and sand and very difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair. You can make it down the hill to the edge of the sand bar but we wouldn’t recommend trying to get any closer to the river.

Highlights?

The views of Mt. Garfield and the river are amazing! They’ve also done a nice job putting multiple picnic tables along the route all with cut-outs for wheelchairs. We appreciated the interpretive trail signs with history of the location (a former logging camp) and information about the ecology.
