Heron Loop Trail (Marymoor Park)

Though crowded at times (especially given the parallel off-dog leash travel) the Heron Loop Trail in Marymoor Park is a really nice walk that takes you to a boardwalk view of Lake Sammamish. The huge park is not far from downtown Redmond and filled with sports fields, dog parks, trails and other amenities.

The Heron Loop trail starts off out in the open and can get very hot on sunny days.

Distance: About 3/4 of a mile round trip from the parking lot to Lake Sammamish.

Highlights? The boardwalk to the lake is definitely a highlight, along with the section of lush trees and shrubs  called the “Mysterious Thicket” where you can do some of the best birding in the area.
