Preston-Snoqualmie Trail

This trail has always held a special place for us as it was one of the first excursions we did in 2012 when we first moved back to the Northwest with Lucas.

Years later we returned and it’s still a nice walk, especially the fact that its wide, paved and long… we’ve never made it more than a mile from the trailhead in Preston but you could go a lot further. There’s a parking lot at the end of Preston Park (right off I-90 exit 22) that will set you right onto the trail.

We’ve also done another section of the trail going the other way and starting at Lake Alice Road near Fall City. It’s similar but feels a little more remote (i.e. you can’t hear car traffic in the distance as you walk)

Key stats:

Distance: The trail is 6.5 miles long (one-way) if you go all the way from Preston to Fall City.

Wheelchair accessible parking? Yes (at both the Preston and Alice Lake road trailheads)

Wheelchair accessible bathrooms? Maybe in Preston Park

Trail condition? Very wide, paved trail. Relatively flat most of the way

Highlights? Great trees and vegetation, a nice stream part way along, a good mix of sunny spots and shaded tree cover. More than anything, the smooth pavement is great if you’re not in the mood for off-roading.
