Tradition Lake
This trail was a big surprise — especially since we had never heard about Tradition Lake before stumbling upon it on a drizly midsummer day.
It’s part of the Tiger Mountain/Issaquah Alps area just east of the town of Issaquah on I-90. A really nice wooded area easy to get to from Seattle.
Key stats:
Distance: We went about 3/4 of a mile to an overlook above the lake. But the trail continued, and supposedly you can go about 1.5 miles in before looping back around.
Wheelchair accessible parking? Yes
Wheelchair accessible bathrooms? Unknown
Trail condition? Hard-packed gravel that’s not too bumpy. Flat and wide enough for safe wheelchair travel.
Highlights? There were a lot of people in the parking lot (other popular trails including mountain biking trails take off from the same spot) but once we got into the woods we hardly saw anyone. The lake itself is pretty unspectacular but the trail rumbles through lots of great northwest forest vegetation, with lots of birds to see and hear.
