Trustland Trails
On Whidbey Island just a few miles from the Clinton ferry terminal off Highway 525. This is a relatively new trail system and they seem to be still adding trails to it. The basic loop is short and labeled as “ADA compliant”; the larger loop is still relatively wheelchair friendly but there is one big hill that takes some extra push (and pull) to get a wheelchair up. Ample parking and picnic tables near the trailhead.
It’s all 2nd or 3rd growth trees and the trails are relatively near to some residential housing. There are some good mushrooms, ferns and other plants to be found.
Key stats:
Distance: 1.7 mile loop with other connecting trails.
Wheelchair accessible parking? Yes
Wheelchair accessible bathrooms? No
Trail condition? Recently constructed (2018) so hard-packed gravel is still flat and in good condition. Also sufficiently wide.
Highlights? Nothing too spectacular about this trail, especially compared to some other ones we’ve done on Whidbey. But the small loop is definitely made to be wheelchair friendly.
